Bematech is aware of its responsibility to the society and community in which it operates.

Among the examples of Bematech’s social work in the state of Paraná are: (i) the creation of an assembly line in the penitentiary for women in the city of Piraquara that currently includes 11 convicts; (ii) the Company’s support of underprivileged orphan children from Lar Moisés through monthly donations and (iii) the Programa Mini Empresa Junior Achievement, a project conducted in 2006, with the participation of young entrepreneurs.

As to environmental matters, the Company has not carried out activities subject to specific control by the environmental authorities, since the handling and storage of its products do not harm the environment. Disposal of products and components are made through companies duly licensed by environmental bodies and authorized by the Instituto Ambiental do Paraná (“IAP”).

To date Bematech has not received any fine by any public body regarding any environmental issue or regarding the activities of its industrial plant.
