Total Care is a complete center for diagnosis, treatment and prevention, combining all necessary structure for patients who require special care.
Opened in 1999 in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, Total Care provides permanent follow-up for patients with diabetes, arterial hypertension and cardiac conditions.
The success of this groundbreaking initiative led Amil to open two more units in São Paulo and one more in Rio, this time in Barra da Tijuca. Later on another unit was also opened in Curitiba.
Each unit has a full team of cardiologists, endocrinologists, nursing staff, dieticians and physical instructors. The facility also contains a specialized library with internet access, plus an auditorium for lectures, classes and presentation of educational films.
Total Care is qualified to collect blood, perform electro-cardiograms, echo-cardiograms, vascular ultra-sound, ergometric and Holter tests, and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring. Putting special emphasis on the patient‘s quality of life, Total Care not only treats, but also takes advantage of all available resources to prevent the appearance of illnesses.
