ICEC

ICEC is aware of its social role and believes that people make the difference. Therefore, its social actions have been guided towards primary, supplementary and professional education. In addition to that, it provides the inclusion of underprivileged youth and their insertion in the workplace.

ICEC carries out several Social Projects and each of its businesses supports one or more institutions. Here are some educational and cultural projects that have the support of ICEC and its businesses:

OSESP

For the third consecutive year, ICEC , through the Rouanet Act, is supporting the Symphony Orchestra of the State of São Paulo - OSESP. This project‘s primary goal is to support culture.

CLASSICAL MUSICA FESTIVAL OF THE BASILICA OF SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PRETO

Also as an incentive to culture, with benefits from the Rouanet Act, ICEC sponsored the "Classical Music Festival of the Basilica of São José do Rio Preto". It is one of the most prestigious events by the local community. ICEC, with this contribution, is showing its appreciation for regional culture and granting its employees with access to culture.

NEW WORLD PROJECT

The New World Project, held in São José do Rio Preto, is carried out by ICEC, through its business CIL. In this project, about 350 children aged 6 to 15 years are assisted with school tutoring, sports activities (capoeira, tennis, swimming, judo, gymnastics, soccer, athletics and basketball) and recreational activities (chess, dance, theater , guitar and choir).

REAME

The "Recanto de Atendimento ao Menor - REAME" (Shelter for Assistance to Minors) is a philanthropic institution with which ICEC, has been a partner to since 2007. This action is located in Cariacica, state of Espirito Santo, and provides the renovation of rooms and closets, donates office workstations, blinds and used computers. REAME can rely on its infrastructure being improved year after year. Solesa provides this entity with a Psychology professional for 20 hours every week.

REAME also holds the "Brazilian Kitchen Project - Intelligent Eating", offering an opportunity for the local community to broaden its knowledge on healthy and low-cost foods, with quick courses. This way, it enable an improvement in the quality of life of the people attended. The classes have both theory and practice on how to change eating habits, as well techniques for full use of foods. The project had certified 228 people up to 2009.

ENVIRONMENT PROJECT

In the city of Bady Bassit, São Paulo, 500 children from the City Elementary School "João Ramos Neto" take part in the "Environment Project". This project was created to stimulate the preparation of citizens that are aware of the needs to preserve the environment. Activities are carried out through fun and educational lectures, focused on eight relevant themes: selective waste collection, conscious consumption, our living environment - reduce/reuse/recycle, conscious water use, study of the soil, air quality and conscious use of electrical energy.

EDUCATION PROJECT

The "Casa de Eurípedes" institution, located in São José do Rio Preto, is assisted by ICEC so that the former may provide children aged 7 to 12 with access to schooling from the 1st to the 4th grade. The project aims to provide opportunities for learning and development in order to create responsible citizens with prosperous futures. Crafts, sports, music, computer and school tutoring activities are provided to them.

CHRISTMAS OF SOLIDARITY

The project CHRISTMAS OF SOLIDARITY ("Natal Solidário") is carried out by all of the Organization‘s businesses. The Project aims to encourage volunteering among its employees. The partner organizations send the letters written by their children with requests for toys and / or clothing, the employee adopts a child and makes the wish written in the letter come true. The distribution is made at the entity during an event with children and donors.
