Luiz Kaufmann, 64, holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Paraná and a Master of Sciences in industrial engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He has held several executive positions, including Chairman and CEO of Medial Saúde, Partner of GP Investimentos, CEO of Aracruz Celulose, Managing Director of Grupo Multiplic, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Banco Multiplic, Deputy CEO of Grupo Petropar and Managing Director of Arthur D. Little.
