Ser Educacional Reports Undergraduate Student Intake Growth of 15.3% in 1Q17

Total intake including graduates reaches 48,900 students, 15.8% up on 1Q16

Recife, April 7, 2017, Ser Educacional S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA SEER3, Bloomberg SEER3:BZ and Reuters SEER3.SA) one of the largest private education groups in Brazil and the leader in the Northeast and North regions, hereby announces that it closed its undergraduate intake process for the first quarter of 2017 with growth of 15.3% over 1Q16.

At the close of 1Q17, there were 46,100 new undergraduate students enrolled, versus 39,900 in the same period in 2016. The highlight of the quarter was the distance-learning segment, which reported growth of 52.4%, enrolling 4,000 students, versus 2,600 in 1Q16.

According to Jânyo Diniz, CEO of Grupo Ser Educacional, "the intake and re-enrollment process for 1Q17 again recorded positive results, mainly drove by the increase in the number of courses and the on-campus teaching units"
