UNINASSAU Maceió Obtains Accreditation for its Distance Learning Operations

Recife, August 2, 2017, Ser Educacional (BM&FBOVESPA SEER3, Bloomberg SEER3:BZ and Reuters SEER3.SA), one of the largest private education groups in Brazil and the leader in the Northeast and North regions, announces that the Ministry of Education (MEC) published on today’s Diário Oficial da União Accreditation Ordinance 933, authorizing UNINASSAU Maceió to expand its distance learning operations, adding 27 new centers and ensuring it the autonomy to create up to 150 centers per year, due to the Institution‘s distance learning accredited operations having Institutional Grade (CI) 4.

After this new accreditation, Grupo Ser Educacional‘s portfolio now has 45 distance learning centers and, in accordance with Regulatory Ordinance 11, of June 21, 2017, it can expand its operations by up to 550 centers per year, 150 of which through UNINASSAU Recife, 150 through UNINASSAU Maceió and 250 through UNG/UNIVERITAS Guarulhos.

The Company also announces that Universidade da Amazônia - UNAMA, whose distance learning received Institutional Grade (CI) 5, has already had its distance learning accreditation process approved by the INEP/MEC, with 10 centers, and it is now awaiting the upcoming manifestation of the National Education Council (CNE) for the publication of the ordinance. This achievement represents an annual capacity expansion for the Group by more than 250 centers, allowing the consolidation of 55 centers and total capacity to create up to 800 centers per year.
