Crisis in Egypt

Barretos, February 7th, 2011 - Minerva S.A. (BOVESPA: BEEF3; Bloomberg: BEEF3.BZ; Reuters: BEEF3.SA), one of the market leaders in Brazil in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and byproducts, with operations also in the beef, pork and poultry processing segments, informs the general market that, due to the latest news about the political crisis in Egypt, its exposure to that market is rather reduced, representing approx. 3% of the cumulative total gross revenues ending Sep 30th, 2010. Minerva S.A. also informs that it does not possess any distribution network in Egypt, therefore it is not subject to major threats to its operations overseas. Moreover, the higher demand presented by the international and domestic markets in the recent months has enabled the Company to reallocate the destinations for its exports very dynamically, without being affected by significant changes in volume and/or price. Despite that, Management has been following very closely the developments of this crisis, once it considers the Egyptian market a strategic and important destination for its exports.
