Minerva increases market share in the Brazilian beef

Barretos, April 6th, 2011 - Minerva S.A. (BOVESPA: BEEF3; Bloomberg: BEEF3.BZ; Reuters: BEEF3.SA), one of the market leaders in Latin America in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and byproducts, with operations also in the beef, pork and poultry processing segments, would like to inform its shareholders and the general Market that significantly increased its market share in Brazilian exports of in natura beef.

According to data from SECEX (Foreign Trade Secretariat), Brazil closed the month of March with 80,000 tons of in natura beef exported, 19% over the previous month. It was the biggest volume exported since August 2010.

Minerva, which has been increasing its participation in Brazilian exports every month, and had 20.2% of market share at the end of 2010, reached approximately 24.5% in March. In addition to increased volume, Minerva showed a growth in average selling price of 12% compared to the end of last year.

The Company‘s exports are distributed to approximately 2,000 customers in nearly 100 countries, including countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. To further consolidate its market share in important foreign markets and to better serve these customers, the Company maintains sales offices in Algeria, Chile, Lebanon, Russia and Saudi Arabia and Italy.
