Sanctions on Brazilian Protein Exports to Russia

Barretos, June 02nd, 2011 - Minerva S.A. (BOVESPA: BEEF3; Bloomberg: BEEF3.BZ; Reuters: BEEF3.SA), one of the market leaders in South America in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and byproducts, with operations also in the beef, pork and poultry processing segment, informs its shareholders and the general market that, according to some articles circulated in the press regarding restrictions on some Brazilian slaughtering plants that export to Russia, it has neither industrial facilities included in the list disclosed by the Russian authority nor operations in the states commented on the note.

In 2010, exports to Russia corresponded to approximately 15% of total gross revenues, demonstrating the strategy of the Company in diversifying its markets and mitigating its concentration risks.
